sesame street spoofs glee! why is this so funny?
September 22, 2011
In the last few years, Sesame Street has churned out some of the best commentary on pop culture touchstones by puppetizing them. They’re fun because they teach preschoolers important lessons (in this case, that “G” produces both a hard and a soft sound), but they also make some jokes for the grown-ups. (Their Mad Men parody’s “Good work, sycophants” still makes me laugh.)
The Glee spoof, “G,” is no different.
Ten points for calling the teacher “Mr. Goo,” and for Puppet Rachel’s muttering about Puppet Finn: “I’m looking at you longingly.”
Elevendy million points for the “Previously On” voice-over: “The G Club got a goat that played guitar, while a goose gobbled garlic.” It’s such nonsense, it could be an actual plotline. That goat was probably better than Artie.

My favorite parts were the Artie puppet, who legitimately looked like Artie, and Will’s butt chin and white boy jheri curl.
