I know a lot of people were quite fond of last week’s Glee, but the thing is–this show has tons of characters to pull from and a huge library of music to use.  Last week just didn’t highlight my favorite characters or my favorite songs.  It also was whoa angsty, which I can appreciate in small doses, but…you know.

Heading into this week, though, I’m practically beside myself with excitement. Spoilers and speculation after the jump!

We know that Will composes a mash-up for a “special occasion,” which promos suggest is Emma and Ken’s wedding. We also know that this episode includes not one, but TWO Will Schuester hip-hop numbers–”Bust a Move” and “The Thong Song.”

First of all, if any real teacher did that in a real school, he would get fired for sexual harassment. But when Will does it, it somehow comes across as totally charming and not creepy. (PS THEY SHOULD TOTALLY DO A HOT FOR TEACHER STORYLINE SOMETIME. Like that blond cheerleader Brittany should have to go and talk to Emma about her inappropriate feelings for Will. Oh my gosh, this so should happen.)

Okay.

And then … holy mother of everything …

It’s crappy quality, but OHMYGOD. How did Will make “The Thong Song” hot??? That song is annoying at best and offensive at worst.

AND EMMA IS JUST SO STINKING PRECIOUS! How could you not want to leave your wife for someone that adorable? Jayma Mays does such a nice job showing Emma’s anxiety–she doesn’t want him to touch her because she just doesn’t like to be touched but she does want him to touch her because, um, he’s Will and she’s in love with him but she doesn’t want him to touch her because he’s married and that’s complicated. But ultimately she just really really wants him to touch her.

Now, here’s the kicker.

There are also clips of Puck singing “Sweet Caroline” (can’t wait for THAT to hit my iPod) and Rachel singing “What a Girl Wants.” Oh, and if you were looking for my opinion on the growing teenage quadrangle, I’m slightly intrigued by the Puck/Rachel thing, if only because it’s clearly just delaying the inevitable and it’s really nice to watch Finn squirm for a change.

But back to Will and Emma.

We also know that “I Could Have Danced All Night” from My Fair Lady is featured in Wednesday’s episode.  Is it possible that this is the other half of Will’s mash-up? Or might we finally be getting a whole number from Miss Pillsbury? Either one could be totally epic. (I kind of just like the audacity of putting “I Could Have Danced All Night”/”The Thong Song” on a track listing, though.)
