Major, CRAZY spoiler under the cut.According to DarkUFO, our friend (or foe?) Jacob has a child. And not just that–Jacob’s child is someone we know. In fact, Dark narrowed it down to fourteen characters and put them in a poll for us to guess on. And we’re not talking randoms; the poll includes Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Locke, and plenty of other main characters. Early voting suggests that the fandom thinks this child is either Locke or Richard Alpert.
I voted for Alpert for a couple of reasons. For starters, I thought perhaps the whole ageless thing could be genetic; it definitely makes sense for Jacob and Alpert to have some kind of connection, considering their odd characteristics and pretty-boy good looks. For seconds, it’s not just that we’ve met Locke’s dad, it’s that the man got a kidney from Locke and didn’t die. That’d be a hell of a coincidence to share a blood type, etc., and not be related.
