glee sneaks: battles, sexing, scandals

This morning, you may have seen the video making the rounds of one of Wednesday night’s musical numbers. While that in and of itself is pretty exciting (love that Artie!), there’s even more fun to be had in the sneak peek clips released by Fox overnight. Spoilers and speculation after the jump.
In addition to setting up a fun episode for the Glee kids, this episode also introduces new and juicy conflicts for the show’s relationships. Quinn and Rachel are forced to work together for this challenge, and from the looks of it, Quinn contemplates quitting Glee. It’s nice to see Rachel step up and bring her romantic rival back into the fold; moments like these show how Rachel can rise above her own self-centered awkwardness to be a team player when it’s called for. Plus, you know what they say about where to keep your enemies…
Meanwhile, Sue gives Terri a lesson in husband-minding, telling her, “Your husband is hiding his kielbasa in a Hickory Farms gift basket that doesn’t belong to you.” (I love, by the way, that Terri’s response is, “What? With who?” instead of the more obvious, “What the hell are you talking about?”) Putting Terri on the defensive–and with even more reason to keep her big baby secret–creates a new dynamic in the Emma/Will/Terri love triangle, one that will definitely be interesting to watch develop.
With both relationships, we know what we’re working toward, and I’m content (for now!) to watch them play out in overdramatic Glee fashion.
At first, I was thinking that Glee was going to be nothing more than a different brand of comedy – one that included amazing musical numbers. However, I, like many others have been pleasantly surprised by the amount of drama and character development happening on the show. Although many shows claim to be a “blend” of comedy, drama, romance, or other genres, Glee does it better. I’m still not sure if it’s a drama? Or a comedy? Would it be included in the variety genre for the Emmys?
Anyways, I swear this comment had a point! These released clips still show the amazing promise this show has, even after only FIVE episodes. I was convinced it would lose it, but it hasn’t. They do an excellent job at combining the different aspects of the show, characters, and musical numbers.
Glee is seriously upsetting the balance of my life. I can’t concentrate on anything due to the amount of awesome this show exudes.
Firstly, the music is making my iTunes account go bankrupt weekly, and secondly, the Will&Emma adorable has established a perma-grin on my face.
I love Will&Emma. This week looks to be especially promising in the development for that ‘ship.
And not to mention Emma’s clothing. Oh dear GOD Emma’s clothes. Her clothes have sent me into a shopping frenzy in an effort to look half as adorable as she does on a daily basis. NEED MOAR CARDIGANS.
So basically? The show is making me unreasonably happy, improving my wardrobe and music collection, and making me go broke all at the same time! What’s not to love?
